Step 1: Receipt of Welcome Letter

Applicants to the 4-Year programs will receive a Welcome Letter from nursing@uregina.ca between April and August. This will follow the admission letter you receive from Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Once you have received your welcome letter, you can move onto the next steps.

Do not start working on the checklists in the welcome packages if you are currently wait-listed for one of the collaborative nursing programs.


Step 2: Read the New Student Welcome Package:

Step 3: Register for Mandatory Academic Group Advising Session:

Information on how to register for group advising and available dates for your site are listed in your New Student Welcome Package. Students must attend a session by August 1st or they will be removed from the program.

 


Step 4: Find Your Username and Passwords for Your UR Accounts:

It is recommended that students set up and practice logging in to the following accounts prior to attending Mandatory Academic Group Advising session.

Step 5: Update Your Social Insurance Number (SIN)

All University of Regina students are required to enter their SIN into UR Self-Service to be eligible to register for courses.

  1. Log into UR Self-Service
  2. Scroll down to Personal Information and click on #Social Insurance Number
  3. You will be prompted to enter your SIN or you will see a message stating the University has the Social Insurance Number information it requires

Step 6: Update Your Preferred Email Address and Contact Information

  1. Log into UR Self-Service
  2. Scroll down to Personal Information and click on Personal Information
  3. Review your information to ensure it is correct and current
  4. Ensure your preferred email is an email account you check regularly

Step 7: Complete the Risk Management Checklist from your New Student Welcome Package:

Register in the appropriate training courses and ensure required documents are submitted to the site you are attending. Ensure that these certificates are completed and submitted according to the directions and deadlines outlined your New Student Welcome Package.


Step 8: Check Your Email Regularly for Updates:

Once you are accepted into your program, please ensure to check your email frequently for news and updates. Ensure that your preferred email is updated in UR Self-Service. Once you have attended mandatory group advising we will only contact you through your U of R email.
